ACUPUNCTURE
Evidence from ancient texts indicate that acupuncture has been in use for over two thousand years and is ever growing in popularity with over 3 million practitioners worldwide.
It is said that its discovery in China came about following observation of affects on the functioning of specific organs when certain areas of the body were stimulated. Over the centuries, the understanding of the meridian pathways (which are said to carry chi through our body) developed and techniques have become increasingly refined. Today, acupuncture is recognized by many as a very effective complimentary therapy. Whilst it’s areas of popularity linking it with specific conditions like nausea, vomiting, dental pain relief etc are widely publicized, it’s broader benefits continue to be a subject of increasing discussion and research to prove its efficacy.
All practitioners offering Classical Acupuncture with the Academy of Eastern Arts have been extensively trained over many years in Chinese Medicine and will also have covered a significant level of Conventional Medical Sciences. Additionally, all our practitioners are members of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) or the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, (ATCM), both recognized and approved bodies in the UK.
